The Golden Acorn News for the fourth quarter of 2025 has been published and is accessible in the Members Area.
This issue is dedicated to our 87th Division veterans who were taken Prisoners of War and their stories of survival outside of combat. This issue will begin a series of articles on POWs in future Golden Acorn News editions. We start with the tribulations of Lt. The 87th IDLA has joined with the Best Defense Foundation and their executive director, Amanda Thompson (granddaughter of Jimmie Bordelon F-347) and Jack Johnson, local historian, to establish a monument to the 87th Infantry Division at Hill 360 outside of Obergailbach, France.
The mission of the Best Defense Foundation is to honor our veterans by returning them to the battlefields where they served, supporting Special Operations Forces in transition, and connecting their stories to the next [more...]

Josh Headlee (husband of Korine Headlee, the granddaughter of Jack Higgins A-346) of Stillwater, MN, passed away at his home on December 14, 2025, after a courageous one-month battle with cancer.
Life and Career
